I am so excited to share this recipe with all of you! I can’t take any credit for this one though because this is my mamas recipe that she’s been making ever since I was a little girl! We seriously made this all the time growing up and I have so many wonderful memories of helping her bake it in the kitchen.
This Banana Bread recipe is a classic in our family and it never lasts very long! With just a few staple ingredients that you most likely have in your home already you can whip up a loaf for your small group, coffee date or just little treat the whole family can enjoy!
This recipe turns out EVERY. Single. Time! It’s delicious flavor will always leave you wanting more! It’s texture inside is perfectly soft with a little crispness baked along the outside of the crust. It has just the right amount of sweetness but if you’re looking for a little more adding chocolate chips will do the trick!

Classic Banana Bread Recipe
1 Cup of Mashed very ripe Banana
1 Cup of Sugar
1/4 Cup Vegetable oil
1/2 Cup Sour Cream
2 Eggs beaten
1 1/2 Cups of flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Salt
Peel ripe bananas and mash well.
I’m that person who buys a batch of bananas and waits and waits to eat them but then I’m too late and they’re brown… don’t throw them out! Instead freeze them and save for your next batch of banana bread!
In a large bowl combine bananas, sugar, oil, sour cream, eggs and mix thoroughly.
In a separate bowl mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
Add to dry mix to banana mixture, mixing just until combined. If adding chocolate chips, stir in slowly.
Pour into well greased 9×5 loaf pan.
Bake and 325F for 1-1 1/4 hrs ( 60-75 min)
